24 August 2008 : WTF annouced that they will adopt an electronic protector system in the Taekwondo competitions at the 2012 London Olympics. WTF also plans to introduce the electronic protector system at the next WTF World Taekwondo Championships scheduled for October 2009 in Copenhagen Denmark
